Volunteers are a vital part of achieving our goals. We appreciate and value your contribution of time, talent, energy, and enthusiasm to help us build a path to increased knowledge and literacy for the youth and young adults we serve. VRP Institute, Inc. appreciates and values the contributions of all our volunteers. Volunteers will be invited to participate in our annual recognition event to be held in April during National Volunteer Appreciation Week. We may nominate our volunteers for special recognition at times. Volunteers who demonstrate exceptional merit should be referred to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers help inspire our youth to stay in school and achieve in life by providing supportive relationships.
There are different roles you can play as a volunteer:
- Mentor/School Buddy – Serve as a student’s role model, motivator and personal advocate, or simply be a friend.
- Academic Coach – Assist our youth and young adults achieve academically.
- Career Coach – Speak about your career experience or host a job shadowing opportunity in a given field.
- Event Specialist – Chaperone field trips, assist with special events, participate in campus beautification projects, or help with other one-time activities.
